San Francisco Pride is one of the largest Pride events in the world. It is held on the last weekend of June, with a celebration at Civic Center and a parade down Market Street on Sunday. The 2027 dates are June 26 and 27.

The parade
The parade runs about 1.6 miles west along Market Street, from Market and Beale near the Embarcadero to Market and 8th Street near Civic Center. In 2026 it started at 10:30am. It takes several hours for every group to pass, so you can join the crowd at any point along the route. Spots between Montgomery and Powell get very crowded. The stretch closer to 8th Street is often easier.
The celebration at Civic Center
The celebration fills Civic Center Plaza with stages, food and vendors on both days. In 2026 it ran from 11am to 6pm. Check sfpride.org for the 2027 schedule and any entry details.
Pride in the Castro
The Castro is the historic heart of the city’s LGBTQ community, and the neighborhood is busy all weekend. The Rainbow Honor Walk, the GLBT Historical Society Museum and Harvey Milk Plaza are good places to start. See our Castro and neighborhood guide.
Getting there
Market Street is closed to traffic during the parade, and Muni routes that use it are rerouted. Muni Metro and BART still run underground, but some station entrances near the route can be very crowded. SFMTA posts a Pride Week travel page each year at sfmta.com.
Tips
- Bring water, sunscreen and a layer. Late June can be warm downtown and foggy by evening.
- Agree on a meeting point with your group. Phone signal can be slow in big crowds.
